McLaren issued a strongly worded statement this afternoon expressing its displeasure at that Italian police had issued a statement claiming that searches at McLaren's HQ had uncovered material which shows the responsibility of certain individuals at McLaren in the spy saga.
Toyota's veteran driver Jarno Trulli says his team may surprise a few people this season after finishing winter testing by setting the pace at Barcelona. The Italian driver insists that the team is in a lot better shape than it was last year.

Rosberg expects close battle

Nico Rosberg may have set some impressive pace in winter testing with the Williams Toyota team, but he is remaining realistic about his chances in the opening race of the season in a fortnight, expecting the midfield to be very close and competitive.
The Super Aguri Formula 1 team has confirmed they will attend the Australian Grand Prix in two weeks time. The Japanese team did not attend a number of test sessions this winter due to financial problems, but the team now confirms it will start with two cars in Melbourne.
After completing its winter testing programme at Barcelona on Wednesday, the Red Bull Racing Team is happy that its new RB4 has good pace and reliability before it heads to the Australian Grand Prix. 

Williams nets two new sponsors

The Williams team has netted two significant new sponsorships with All Saints, the rapidly growing fashion label and mydiamonds.com, the new diamond jewellery website to be launched shortly.

Automaker BMW said Wednesday it will cut another 5,600 jobs by late 2008, on top of 2,500 positions that already have been eliminated, as it moves to pare expenses amid a wider cost-cutting program. via Post and Courier

Tyre manufacturer Bridgestone confirmed that Formula 1 teams will get another opportunity to test their cars with slick tyres. Back in December the F1 teams got the chance to test Bridgestone's slick tyres over three days at Jerez.
Nick Heidfeld and the BMW Sauber F1 team showed the team is keen to continue its strong performance from last season heading into the 2008 Formula 1 season. As the last week of testing finished on Wednesday Heidfeld is already excited about the upcoming opening race in Melbourne in less than three weeks from now.
