BMW launched in Argentina the next generation of its "5 Series", which consists of four-door vehicles , and a five-door model called Gran Turismo , which will be offered for the first time in the local market.

The BMW Group in the U.S. reported August sales of 23,965 vehicles, a decrease of 1.6 percent from the 24,343 vehicles sold last year.

Sales were relatively strong for the premium German trio of Audi, Mercedes-Benz and BMW for August 2010.

Bayerische Motoren Werke AG's namesake brand increased U.S. sales 1.6 percent in August and beat Toyota Motor Corp.'s Lexus nameplate as the top U.S. luxury brand for the third straight month.
